WTIC Promotes Meteorologist Rachel Frank to Chief Role

After a decade with the station, WTIC meteorologist Rachel Frank has been promoted to the chief position.

“Rachel Frank is one of the top meteorologists in the country,” said Liz Grey Godbout, vice president of news for Fox 61 and CW 20. “She is an excellent forecaster, communicator and leader, and she has served the Connecticut audience with distinction for more than a decade. We are thrilled to name her chief meteorologist and look forward to her continued successes and achievements in the future.”

Frank, who will oversee meteorologists Matt Scott, Dan Amarante, Rachel Piscitelli and Tim LaVigne, said, “We all understand the critical importance of keeping our viewers informed during the varied weather events we face in Connecticut.”

Frank graduated with honors from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. She worked as a meteorologist at WFMZ and WICU before joining the Hartford, Conn., station. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.

Frank will serve as meteorologist on the at 4, 5, 10 and 11 p.m. shows.
