WTHR Leads the Market in Households on Election Night

Indianapolis NBC affiliate WTHR led the market in its election coverage Tuesday night.

The station says it was tops in total household viewership from 6 p.m until 2 a.m. was watched by 60 percent more homes in Central Indiana than the other stations in the market.

“This has been an unprecedented election year on many levels, and Indiana was in the spotlight” said Dispatch Broadcast Group president, Larry Delia. “I’m proud of our station’s great planning, journalistic integrity and commitment to excellence around such an important and historic day in our nation’s political history.”

WTHR’s news app and website saw 1.4 million pageviews on election night, including 219,000 unique visitors. The station reached 1.3 million online viewers by simulcasting local election coverage on Facebook Live.

Digital coverage for Tribune’s Fox affiliate WXIN brought in 256,032 unique visitors, compared to WTHR’s 219,000.
