WSOC Hires 2 Loses 1

Charlotte CBS affiliate WSOC is seeing a departure and two arrivals.

Jenna Deery is leaving to work for the city’s Regional Visitors Authority. She’s worked at the station since October 2013. She started her career at WFTV in Orlando, Fla.

“From a lifestyle standpoint, it’s time to see what it’s like not to have to wonder if you’ll get a holiday off to spend with your family or what time you’ll leave work that’s now dependent on where I’m live and what show I’m in,” Deery wrote about her move out of broadcast. “It’s time to know what it’s like to go to work in a bun. It’s time to know what it’s like to have a snow day. It’s time to find out what else I’m good at doing. It’s time to plant some roots.”

Barber started at WKYT in December 2013.

Matt Harris (pictured left) joins in September as a sports reporter and anchor.

Harris comes from KSLA from Shreveport, La. CBS affiliate.
