WROC Shows Tributes to Susan B. Anthony With Livestream

By Kevin Eck

Rochester CBS affiliate WROC was live streaming from the grave of Susan B. Anthony today.

Anthony spent her life fighting for women’s right to vote and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester, N.Y. The cemetery says it’s staying open until 9 tonight “to accommodate those wishing to celebrate their vote” at her gravesite.

CBS News says WROC “reports a steady stream of people are arriving at Rochester’s Mount Hope cemetery, decorating Anthony’s grave with “I Voted” stickers and American flags. Some are leaving yellow roses, which was a symbol of the women’s suffrage movement. The station reports hundreds are expected to pay respects for Election Day.”

“The line wrapped around the cemetery and had doubled by noon,” reports WROC. “Some people we talked to said they waited longer for this than they did to vote.”
