Lena Tillett has joined Raleigh NBC affiliate WRAL as a morning anchor and reporter.
“Had a BLAST this morning for my debut on WRAL TV,” Tillett wrote on her Facebook page. “This morning team REALLY is the best!! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!”
“So glad to welcome WRAL Lena Tillett to the morning news family!” Brian Shrader said on his Facebook page. “She knocked it out of the park on her first morning!”
Tillett comes to WRAL from WOWT in Omaha, Neb. She’s also worked at News 12 Bronx/Brooklyn.
“I should have been clearer,” Shrader wrote later. “Renee isn’t going anywhere! She’ll be back on the anchor desk when she returns from Rio later this month. You’ll see Lena until then. Once Renee is back, you’ll see Lena covering stories on WRAL in the morning, then co-anchoring with Bill and Renee on FOX50 from 7a-9a.”
