WPTV Moves Longtime Anchors, Adds Newscast

By Kevin Eck

According to West Palm Beach, Fla., NBC affiliate WPTV, the big news is the station is adding an 11 a.m. weekday newscast starting September 14.

But Gossip Extra reports the real news is that longtime morning anchor John Favole and Roxanne Stein are being moved from the anchor chairs they’ve held for the last 20 years to anchor the 7 to 9 a.m. show on Fox affiliate WFLX.

The two will be replaced by Mike Trim and Ashleigh Walters from 4:30 until 7 a.m. They’ll be joined by breaking news anchor Chris Stewart, meteorologists Lisa Vaughn and Glenn Glazer, and traffic anchor Hollani Davis.

Stein, Favole and Davis will anchor the 11 a.m., which replaces the station’s Noon news.
