WPMT Anchor Leaving Station to Go Into Marketing

By Kevin Eck

Heather Warner is leaving York, Pa., Fox affiliate WPMT in March.

The station says Warner is taking a job at a local advertising and communications agency where she’ll “develop and implement strategic marketing plans.”

“I have greatly enjoyed my years with FOX43, and my co-workers are like family to me,” said Warner. “While I will miss everyone here, and I will miss the excitement of covering local news and sharing the stories of Central Pennsylvanians, I am ready to contribute in a different way. I’m thrilled to start this new role.”

She started at WPMT since 2003 as co-anchor of the 10 p.m. news. In 2012, she took a short break to get a Masters. She moved to mornings in early 2013, then returned to evenings a year later as co-anchor of the 4, 5 and 10 p.m. news.

“Heather has become an icon in our market,” said WPMT vp and gm Chris Topf. “On air, she has established herself as a top anchor and journalist. When it comes to interacting with the community and representing the station in a positive way, there are not many that compare. She is without a doubt one of the area’s favorite television personalities, and anyone who has spent time at FOX43 during her time here, either as a guest or a colleague, will tell you what a wonderful person she is.”
