WPLG reporter Erica Rakow is saying goodbye to the ABC affiliate in Miami. She’s heading north to WPTV in West Palm Beach, Fl.
“Spending the past few years here at home, telling stories in communities where I grew up, where I was born and raised, where I feel so connected and on the station I grew up watching, was a really, really special experience— the good, the bad, ugly, scary, the tragedies, the rewarding, the positives we shared together. All of it,” she said in a Facebook post.
Rakow arrived in Miami in 2015. It was a homecoming, she grew up in South Florida.
“Thank you to all the local leaders and law enforcement officers for everything you do in our communities to keep south Florida safe and a wonderful place to visit and live,” she said.
Rakow, her husband and one year old will make the move. It’s unclear when she will begin at the NBC affiliate.
