WPIX morning anchor Scott Stanford was on his couch yesterday after hurting his ankle while shooting a segment.
The anchor for Tribune’s New York station took a tumble while reporting on the 2016 Tough Mudder Women’s Champion, who was showing him how she trains.
“I was like a Ninja Warrior yesterday,” said Stanford. “I was climbing walls. I was dangling from ceilings. I was having a ball.”
“We shot the whole piece. I did everything, not a scratch on me,” he told his co-anchor Sukanya Krishnan. “As soon as we say ‘Cut! That’s a wrap’ I take a step off the mat, my whole ankle rolls over and the whole thing popped.”
He now has a boot and was back on-air this morning.
