WPIX Announces New Weekend Anchor Team

By Mark Joyella

Kala Rama and Craig Treadway will be the new weekend anchors at WPIX in New York in the New Year.

They will take over for Kaity Tong who returns to the weekdays, co-anchoring a new 6:30 p.m. newscast alongside longtime WOR anchor Brenda Blackmon, who left that station when daily newscasts were shuttered in 2013.

Rama joins the Tribune-owned CW station from WABC where she was weekday morning reporter. Prior to joining WABC, Rama worked as an anchor and reporter at WKMG in Orlando. Treadway has been at PIX11 Morning News since it launched in 2000. He has previously worked at KMOV in St. Louis, KMSP in Minneapolis/St. Paul, New England Cable News and at New York’s Fox5.

“We’re excited to continue to build PIX11’s talent roster, Kala is a great addition to the station and Craig is a proven performer,” said Rich Graziano, president/GM, PIX11.

Rama is married to Anthony DiLorenzo who is a reporter at PIX11. Both Rama and DiLorenzeno left Orlando earlier this year for New York.
