Fox-owned New York station WNYW has announced changes to its morning and weekend newscast anchor lineup.
In the mornings, Bianca Peters (pictured left) will get to wake up a little later. She moves from anchoring the 4:30 a.m. newscast to co-anchoring from 7 to 9 a.m. alongside Rosanna Scotto (right), who will continue to solo anchor the hourlong show at 9 a.m.
Peters joined WNYW in 2019 from WFOR in Miami, where she served as a traffic anchor and sports reporter. She’s also worked at KOBI in Medford, Ore., as a host and segment producer for JUCE TV in Tustin, Calif. and as a host and reporter for ESPN’s X Games in Los Angeles.
As Peters moves to later in the mornings, weekend anchor Dan Bowens will take over for Peters on Good Day Wake Up at 4:30 a.m.
Bowens also hosts true crime podcast The Tape Room, which looks into cold cases in the tristate area. Before joining the station in 2010, he worked as a reporter at WRAL in Raleigh, N.C. He’s also worked at WINK in Fort Myers, Fla. and at KEPR in Tri-Cities, Wash.
To fill Bowens’ weekend anchor slot, Arthur Chi’en has been promoted from freelance reporter to staff reporter and weekend anchor.
Chi’en is a three-time Emmy Award-
winning newscaster who began his journalism career at NBC News and worked his way up to the role of producer for NBC’s Nightly News with Tom Brokaw. He has also worked as a New York Bureau producer for the Today Show. He started his reporting career at New York 1 in 1998 and later moved on to WFXT in Boston, before returning to New York as a correspondent at WCBS and WPIX.
