WNEM News Director Makes a Jump to Cleveland

WOIO is getting a new news director from Flint, Michigan.

WNEM news director Ian Rubin will join the Raycom owned station in Cleveland.

“We are very happy that Ian is joining us to spearhead our news efforts.” said vice president and general manager Erik Schrader commented. “He’s a great teacher and a great leader. We look forward to working with him.”

Rubin has more than 30 years of local news experience in multi-platform coverage. He oversaw coverage of the Flint Water Crisis and a terror attack at Bishop International Airport.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with so many determined and thoughtful individuals in the pursuit of great local content relevant to the audience we serve,” said Rubin.

Prior to Michigan, Rubin worked in news management in Ohio, Boston and New York City prior to arriving in Michigan.

His first day at WOIO will be March 19th .
