From the Big Apple to the Capital, WNBC reporter Jummy Olabanji is moving on.
She is joining WRC, the NBC station in Washington D.C, the station where she says it all started.
“Jummy’s career started as a News4 Intern. Along the way, Jummy also worked for stations in Norfolk and Charlottesville and earned a Master’s degree from Gonzaga University. Jummy has been honored with two national Edward R. Murrow Awards for breaking news anchor coverage. Her commitment to journalistic excellence has also been recognized with two Virginia Associated Press Awards and six Capital Emmy Awards, including for Best Morning Newscast,” said WRC’s vice president of news, Mike Goldrick in his announcement to the staff.
Olabanji is currently reporting and anchoring in New York. This summer she’ll join WRC as a live desk anchor and reporter.
Her new role starts in July.
