Samantha Rivera has been named sports anchor and reporter for Chicago NBC owned station WMAQ.

“As a Chicagoland native, Samantha is passionate and knowledgeable about our region’s sports, teams and athletes,” said John Schippman, vp of sports content at NBCUniversal Local Chicago. “Her dynamic coverage and unique perspective make her an excellent addition to our already talented team. We look forward for her to begin contributing to NBC 5, as well as Telemundo Chicago and NBC Sports Chicago.”

“To say I’m elated for this homecoming is an understatement,” said Rivera. “It’s an absolute privilege to cover my hometown with such an incredible NBC squad. This opportunity is extra special, knowing the community I grew up in will also be able to watch the stories I’m sharing. Let’s get to work, Chicago!”
