WLNS anchor Jane Aldrich says Doctor Phil was her inspiration for leaving the Lansing, Mich. CBS affiliate.

Saying Dr. Phil talked on his show about the importance of living the life you want to lead now, Aldrich told viewers she realized she needed a change and is leaving in January after 31 years.

“I just feel that it’s time,” she told viewers.

The 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. anchor started her career in radio before moving into TV news. She started working at WLNS in 1985.
