Kentucky Station to Debut Morning Show About ‘Good Things’

WKYT is looking to fill what it called a “rapidly-growing demand” for more local programming and lifestyle content with a new weekday morning show called Everyday Kentucky.

The show, which will begin airing Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 9 a.m., will be hosted by Andrea Walker, Amber Kennoy, Dave Baker and Martina Barksdale, as well as morning and noon meteorologist Jim Caldwell.

“Viewers often say they are looking for more uplifting content,” Walker said. “My hope for this show is that it shines a light on the good we see in people every day in our community. ”

The Lexington, Ky. CBS affiliate said it “opted to invest locally” by launching a show that is focused on “unique things, people and places that our great state has to offer.”

“It gives us the opportunity to showcase good things going on in our community,” said WKYT president and general manager Jeff Anderson.
