Jessica Sanchez, traffic reporter for Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG, has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

On her blog “Let’s Be Honest,” Sanchez told viewers, “What I thought was a bad case of pneumonia turned out to be a mass on my right lung. It was filling my lung and the area around my heart with fluid, leaving me breathless and sending me into coughing fits that caused people to turn away in disgust. I don’t blame them. Even I was grossing myself out!”

Skip Valet, WKMG general manager told the Orlando Sentinel, “WKMG’s  thoughts and prayers are focused on Jessica’s health and recovery.

Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is a cancer starting in a type of white blood cell called lymphocytes.

Sanchez was most recently in the news for a controversial live shot from New Orleans where she asked a woman who intruded in the shot if she had an STD.

On her facebook page, Sanchez posted her thanks to viewers for their thoughts, “My heart is practically bursting under the weight of all the thoughts and prayers you are sending my way. I read every comment even if I can’t always respond. It truly means more than you will ever know!

The station said Sanchez is in good spirits and is resting at a local hospital.
