WJLA Anchor Charged with Trespassing and Public Intoxication

Autria Godfrey was arrested last month and charged with public intoxication and trespassing, the Washington Post reports.

The Post says arrest records say Godfrey was charged with the two misdemeanor counts on February 18. From the Post:

A statement from Arlington police said officers responded to a call at the 1100 block N. Highland Street, where the Clarendon Grill is located. A woman had “allegedly started an altercation inside the establishment,” according to police spokeswoman Ashley Savage. “Restaurant employees escorted the female subject off the property where she was advised by police that she would be arrested for trespassing if she returned that evening.”

“At approximately 1:24 AM, officers were advised that the female subject had returned to the property,” said a police spokesperson. “Responding officers arrived on scene and observed the female subject inside the restaurant. Autria Godfrey, 33, was arrested and charged with trespassing and drunk in public.”

WJLA told TVSpy it doesn’t comment about personnel issues.

FTVLive reported last week Godfrey had been taken off air, but didn’t know why.
