Veronica Johnson is joining Sinclair’s Washington, D.C. ABC affiliate WJLA and News Channel 8 as a morning meteorologist on Monday.
“Veronica knows this community, and its unique weather patterns, like the back of her hand.” said WJLA director of News Mitch Jacob. “We are excited to have her join our StormWatch7 team and our great Good Morning Washington family.”
Johnson has worked at NBC-owned WRC since 2000. She’ll work with meteorologist Eileen Whelan on on Good Morning Washington from 4:25 to 10 a.m.
“I am thrilled to be moving into the next chapter of my weather career and join the ABC 7 morning team as AM meteorologist,” said Johnson. “I’m grateful for the opportunities thus far in D.C. and look forward to providing our StormWatch7 viewers the strongest weather and emergency information.”
Johnson has also worked at WMAR and WBFF in Baltimore, WABC in New York and The Weather Channel.
