WJHL announced this week that anchors Josh Smith and Sara Diamond are switching schedules.
Smith will move from mornings to anchor the CBS-affiliate’s 5, 5:30, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts and Diamond will take his place from 5-7:00 a.m., as well as noon.
“The move gives our viewers more reason to watch,” said John Soares, WJHL’s news director. “Our devoted morning viewers won’t want to miss Josh anchor our incomparable evening news coverage and our evening viewers will certainly be eager to wake up in the morning to start their day with Sara.”
Smith and Diamond have been fixtures at WJHL for the past decade. A native of the Tri-Cities region, Smith joined WJHL in 1999 and Diamond came along in 2001, working as a weekend anchor before landing the weekday evening spot. Video of the anchors announcing the switch inside…
