WJBK’s Charlie LeDuff Named GQ’s ‘Mad Man of the Year’

By Kevin Eck

Charlie LeDuff, reporter for Detroit FOX owned station WJBK has been named “Mad Man of the Year” by GQ magazine.

“Besides being the author of a best-selling book about how fucked Detroit is (Detroit: An American Autopsy, published earlier this year), Charlie got famous by basically reinventing local news reporting,” wrote GQ’s Devin Friedman in the current issue which is set to appear on shelves Monday.

According to the Detroit Free Press, GQ said it chose LeDuff based on his  WJBK stories, his book and his appearance on Anthony Bourdain’s CNN show “Parts Unknown.”
