WITI Reporter Gets Promoted to Morning Anchor

WITI reporter Carl Deffenbaugh has been promoted to morning anchor.

Beginning Aug. 24, he will move to the anchor desk from 4:30-9 a.m., replacing Jessob Resibeck, who is leaving Milwaukee, Wisc.

“When Carl anchored, it became apparent very quickly that he was a perfect fit for the anchor desk,” said president and general manager, Chuck Steinmetz.

Deffenbaugh is an award-winning reporter, most recently winning an Emmy for his series of reports from onboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. He started his career on the sports anchor desk in Pennsylvania and after a few years in Virginia and Indiana, moved to Wisconsin to join the FOX6 Wakeup team.

Carl graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and lives in Milwaukee with his wife and daughter.
