WIS, the Gray Television-owned NBC affiliate in Columbia, S.C., has added Alicia Barnes to the anchor lineup. She comes from the ABC affiliate in the market.
Barnes will be the weekend evening anchor and weekday reporter. She will also fill in on the anchor desk during the week.
“Alicia is an incredible journalist and a talented news anchor,” said Brad Hyatt, WIS-TV news director. “We are ecstatic to have her join the WIS family and believe she will make the Midlands No. 1 news team even stronger.”

Barnes has done stints at stations across the country, including stops at KNSD in San Diego and WXIA in Atlanta.
She’s been voted favorite female newscaster and has won a number of awards at her most recent stint in the market.
