WIS Names Chief Meteorologist

Columbia, S.C., NBC affiliate WIS has named Robb Ellis its chief meteorologist.

Before working in TV, Ellis was a scientist and researcher with the State Climate Offices in North and South Carolina. He comes from WISH in Indianapolis, where he was the weekday evening meteorologist. He’s also been the chief meteorologist at WECT-WSFX in Wilmington, N.C. and has worked at WFMY in Greensboro, N.C.

“We’re excited to have Robb join WIS and head up the First Alert Team,” said Bryan Queen, WIS news director. “From hurricanes, tornadoes, and thunderstorms he’s tracked them all and is passionate about giving viewers the information they need to prepare.”
