Chattanooga ABC affiliate WTVC is back to doing news after canceling its morning newscast yesterday.

The station sent out a tweet yesterday alerting viewers of what it called a “widespread” Covid outbreak.

“TO OUR VIEWERS: Due to a widespread COVID outbreak at NewsChannel 9 and for the safety of our employees, we are unable to provide our normal Good Morning Chattanooga programming on WTVC and ETVC,” said the station. “Our other newscasts will air during their regular scheduled times today.”

Some viewers pushed back, saying the station should have had a plan in place. When asked about specifics, the station replied,”As we said, it’s a widespread COVID outbreak.”
