In Wichita, Kan., popular reporter Lily Wu, who’s been missing from the air since December, will resurface in the same market as a reporter and anchor.
It’s now clear that Wu left KAKE after nine years as a reporter to go to the competition at KWCH.
She made the announcement on social media this week. Wu explained that in this role she’ll co-anchor the 4 p.m. show from Monday to Friday on KWCH’s sister station, KSCW, plus turn a story everyday that will air during the evening shows.

Wu took a six-month break from TV because of her noncompete contract. Since that’s expired, she’ll be allowed back to work in the market.
She will start her new job on June 22.
