Why Did a Houston Meteorologist Threaten to ‘Kick Somebody’s Behind?’

By Kevin Eck

After widespread flooding in Houston, some residents told KRIV meteorologist Mike Iscovitz they felt they would be fired from their jobs if they heeded the good advice to stay home instead of putting themselves at risk and heading out onto unsafe streets.

The meteorologist for the Houston Fox-owned station was having none of it.

“I gotta tell you, man,” said Iscovitz. “If that happened you better take it to Akin (the station’s consumer reporter) or something because we are going to kick somebody’s behind if they fire you because you didn’t head out on a deadly flooded street.”
