Jamie Simpson, chief meteorologist at Dayton CBS affiliate WHIO, is hospitalized and facing criminal charges after a single vehicle accident Thursday. According to the station, the anchor’s car crashed through a fence and struck a tree just after 1:20 p.m. Simpson faces a charge of operating a vehicle while under the influence:
No one else was in the car or was injured.
Formal charges have not been filed, but Simpson was ticketed at the scene before he was transported to the hospital.
