What Will Happen to XETV Staff When Station Shuts Down?

By Kevin Eck

We reported yesterday Bay City Television, owner of CW affiliate XETV in San Diego, will cease operations at the end of May a few months before the station loses its CW affiliation to KFMB.

What does that mean for the people who work there? Chuck Dunning, vp and GM of XETV told TVSpy, “As of March 31st, the majority of the staff will be free to pursue new opportunities. We will keep a small number of employees to operate CW6 from April 1 – May 30th.”

When asked about what would happen to the facilities once the switch to a re-transmission of Channel Nine Network from Mexico City Dunn told us “We are still deciding what we’ll do.”
