WHAS political reporter Joe Arnold is leaving TV to work for the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives.
WHAS radio announced the move on facebook. “Media news this morning: WHAS-TV reporter Joe Arnold has been named V.P. of Strategic Communications for the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives. He begins his new job on September 18th.”
Arnold started at the Louisville, Ky. ABC affiliate in 1998. He’s the station’s political reporter, anchor and editor and also hosts a weekly half hour political show called The Powers That Be. He’ll continue to host the show.
“It is with mixed emotions that I announce my decision to transition to the next stage of my career,” said Arnold. “WHAS11 is a leader in broadcast journalism and my dear and talented colleagues have been a second family to me over the last 17 years. WHAS11 has introduced me to leaders, concerned citizens and issues in Kentucky, and I am excited to be able to apply my experience and skills to an organization that supports a critical asset for our state, reliable electricity at affordable rates.”
