WGNO Anchor Signs Off, Heads to Gaming Network

A week after WGNO anchor Anne Cutler announced she’s heading to D.C., New Orleans morning host Jacki Jing announced she’s leaving too.

Jing isn’t staying in local news. She’s taking a job with IGN, a video gaming network and calls it a dream job.

“This may come as a shock but as many of you know, my dear brother, Ian, passed away roughly a year ago. I have been desperately missing my family and we all have been struggling since his passing. So after much contemplation, I decided to take this wonderful opportunity and move closer to loved ones,” she said in a lengthy post on social media.

Jing continued to say she applied for this job on a whim over the internet. Her and her brother always had a connection to video games and comic books and this seemed like a dream job. When she eventually got the offer, Jing said it was a sign.

“I thought nothing would happen. It was an absolute long shot for my dream job – but I felt like I had to try. For Ian.”

Today was her last day at the ABC affiliate.
