WGCL Asks Political Group to Drop Its Footage From New Herman Cain Ad

By Andrew Gauthier

Atlanta CBS-affiliate WGCL wasn’t happy to find its footage being used in a new political ad defending embattled presidential hopeful Herman Cain.

The ad, titled “Vindicating Herman Cain,” started being circulated online this week and attempts to show that Cain is telling the truth in denying the sexual harassment allegations leveled against him by citing a story WGCL did in early November.

WGCL news director Eric Ludgood told TVSpy today that the station has contacted the political committee behind the ad and asked them to stop using the video, which features an Atlanta private investigator analyzing Cain’s response to Sharon Bialek’s sexual harassment allegations using special lie detector software.

The political committee (999 Fund) has yet to pull the ad from YouTube or its website.
