WFTV’s Brian Monahan Prepares for Weekend ‘GMA’

By Merrill Knox

WFTV meteorologist Brian Monahan is filling in on the weekend edition of ABC’s “Good Morning America” for the next two weeks, and he has been preparing by broadening his weather scope outside of Orlando.

“[I’m] trying to keep everything as normal as possible headed into the weekend,” he told TVSpy in an email. “Looks active weather-wise, too, with [Hurricane] Katia nearby the east coast. I’m paying a bit more attention to national weather this week.”

Monahan, who joined the Orlando ABC affiliate last year, said he is excited about contributing to “GMA.”

“I’m really looking forward to the opportunity and am very fortunate I have a great news director in Bob Jordan who is allowing me the opportunity,” he said. “Everyone here at WFTV has been so supportive and I appreciate it greatly.”
