Meteorologist John Gerard has resigned from Miami CBS-owned station WFOR.
“For those of you who were wondering, I resigned from my position at CBS4,” Gerard wrote on his Facebook page. “Totally my decision & I thank WFOR for the opportunity they offered me. Thanks for all of your support over the years, wherever I wind up I’m taking y’all with me. Carpe diem & God bless you.”
Gossip Extra’s Jose Lambiet reports the resignation comes weeks after signing a two-year contract extension.

He was named weekend weather anchor in April 2014. He has also worked at WPLG and WTVJ in Miami.
