WFAA Traffic Anchor Fires Back at Body Shaming Viewer

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

WFAA‘s new traffic reporter, Demetria Obilor, is receiving national attention after shutting down a viewer who complained about her body shape and outfit choice.

This is the original post.

In a Facebook video posted Friday, Obilor, who is the morning traffic anchor for the Tegna-owned ABC affiliate in Dallas, called out a viewer who disliked her appearance.

“The controversy is coming from people who watch me on television because they don’t like the way I look, saying her body is too big for that dress or she’s too curvy,” she said.

Obilor is no stranger to controversy. While at KLAS, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, a viewer wrote a racist letter about her curly hair.

Her Facebook post has received over 300,000 views.
