WFAA Morning Anchor Launches Station to First Place in Social Media Ratings

WFAA’s newest traffic anchor Demetria Obilor has launched the Tegna owned ABC affiliate into first place in the social media ratings.

Share Rocket data shows from October 29 to November 29 that WFAA charged ahead of KDFW, the Fox owned station.

Obilor joined WFAA’s morning show on October 23. Two weeks later she found herself in the middle of a viral story when a viewer body shamed her on social media. Her response received coverage from across the country and earned a 17.66 Share in the market. The station’s overall Share in the market was 39.9.

KDFW was second with a 35.3 overall Share, followed by KXAS, the NBC owned station with a 13.1 overall Share. The other three stations Share Rocket tracks in the market had Shares in the single-digits. KDFW was the top station in the market on Facebook while WFAA was the top station on Twitter and Instagram. The main KDFW station Page was the single top account on Facebook.
