Orlando Station Makes Anchor Changes

Orlando, Fla. NBC affiliate WESH is shaking up its anchor line-up.

Meredith McDonough, the afternoon and evening anchor who has been out on maternity leave, will move to mornings as co-anchor of the morning newscast alongside Jason Guy once she returns to the air in late summer, the station announced.

Replacing McDonough in the evenings will be Summer Knowles, whose new co-anchor will be Stewart Moore at 4 p.m. Knowles will also co-anchor with Jim Payne at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Michelle Imperato will join Moore at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. on CW 18.

Knowles and Imperato will assume their new roles this month.

“What I love about morning news is the bond we build with viewers,” McDonough said. “They rely on us for important information to plan their day, and it feels great to get them off to a positive start. As a Mom of three and soon to be four, I know how valuable it is to turn to WESH for news, weather and traffic, as you’re getting ready for the day. I’m excited to see you on Sunrise.”
