Steve Bailey has been hired by Weigel Broadcasting as head of local programming and creative for WCIU, its Chicago station.
Bailey last worked at Media General where he was director of programming and affiliate marketing.
“Steve will play a lead role as we continue to grow The U as a choice for local audiences,” said Steven Farber, svp of operations for Weigel Broadcasting Co. “Our plans for Chicago include developing a new wave of programming choices on multiple platforms.”

Bailey created and was executive producer of the local reality show The Valley while he was creative services director at WDTN-WBDT in Dayton, Ohio.
