Weigel Broadcasting Names Three Executives to Movies! Network

Weigel Broadcasting has named three network managers for its Movies! Network, a joint project with Fox Television Stations.

Garth Franklin has been named network creative leader for the Me-TV Network and Movies!. Franklin comes from Mark Cuban‘s companies, where he has been creative director for AXS TV, Magnolia Pictures and HDNet Movies for six years.

William M. Craig, who was most recently the senior promo producer at WMAQ in Chicago, has been named brand director for Movies! Network.

Weigel has also hired Ed Johnson as head of content and scheduling for Movies!. He has worked as programming at TV One, Ovation, SOAPnet, CBS Television Distribution, The WB, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Blair Television.

“The phenomenal success of Me-TV, along with the launch of Movies!, has moved our organization forward in a manner that requires the addition of leaders and creative individuals capable of delivering products to our almost 200 client stations, advertisers and growing audience numbers,” Weigel president of content and networks Neal Sabin said in a statement. “We believe that Garth, William and Ed each possess talents and skills that will make a difference in all of these areas.”
