Jim Lokay says he’s leaving Boston ABC affiliate WCVB.
New England One says Lokay turned down a contract extension for personal reasons. His father had a massive stroke six months after he started working at WCVB.
The weekend morning anchor told viewers on Facebook he’ll let them know where he’s going later and added, “It has been an AMAZING run in New England, and while I had some great opportunities to stay here and grow, I also have the rare chance right now to spend some time with my family as I plan out the next chapter.”
Before joining WCVB in 2011, he was at KDKA in Pittsburgh, Pa. He’s also worked at YNN in Syracuse, N.Y.
