Business reporter Bill Francis has retired after 42 years, ending his run at Louisville Fox affiliate WDRB on Halloween:

He joined WDRB as weekend co-anchor on the original News at 10 in 1990, and was the first co-anchor of WDRB News at 4, helping launch the first newscast in that time slot in 2001.

Throughout his time at WDRB, Bill has filled a TV niche in covering local business news. He has spent countless hours at Ford plants, Appliance Park and on the streets for historic renovations in downtowns on both sides of the Ohio River.

Smooth, cool and collected, Bill will be the first to tell you that he’s a reporter and a story teller — and not a celebrity. Just the facts, please.
