WDBJ Gets a New GM

Matt Pumo has been named general manager of Roanoke, Va., CBS affiliate WDBJ.

Pumo was announced in a memo that was posted to the station website.

“It’s great to be here in Roanoke,” said Pumo. “WDBJ7 has a long history of serving the viewers of Virginia, and I’m looking forward to working with the very talented people here and helping to shape our future.”

He was named gm of WCWG in Greensboro, in 2012. He’s also been gm of WALA-WFNA in Mobile, Ala.

“Now at WDBJ, he is the station’s first general manager under new owner Gray Television, which purchased WDBJ from Schurz Communications earlier this year,” said the station press release.
