WDAF Names New News Director

WDAF, the Tribune-owned station in Kansas City, has named a new news director.

Dana McDaniel will oversee the FOX-affiliate’s broadcast and digital operations. This is a homecoming for McDaniel who launched Tribune’s 24 hour news channel CLTV in Chicago.

“Dana is an experienced and innovative news director. We are excited to have someone of her caliber leading our winning team in Kansas City,” said Tracy Brogden Miller, the station vice president and general manager.

McDaniel comes to WDAF from KTVU-KICU in San Francisco where she was the vice president of news. During her time there, she expanded news hours, coverage and social engagement.

Previously, she served as vice president of news for WTTG/WDCA in Washington DC and WJBK in Detroit.
