WCTV Airs Never Before Seen Interview with Mike Wallace Conducted by His Grandson, Now a Reporter

By Andrew Gauthier

WCTV in Tallahassee aired a never before seen interview with CBS News legend Mike Wallace this week. The CBS-affiliate was able to land the exclusive video, which was shot six years ago, because the interview was conducted by Wallace’s grandson, Eames Yates, who now works as a reporter for the station.

Wallace is remarkably candid in the interview. At one point, he admits that he sacrificed his family for his career.

“I was more interested in my work than in my family,” Wallace tells his grandson. Video inside…

He also explains what drove him when he was just starting out as a journalist.

“I used to have a really bad case of acne,” Wallace says. “As a result of which, I grew up with a kind of chip on my and a sense of inferiority. And I think to a certain degree I tried to make up for that.”
