WCPO Assistant Director Leaves for ND Job in Florida

WCPO assistant news director Sara Zak is heading to Fort Myers as WFTX‘s new news director. WCPO and WXTF are both Scripps-owned stations.

“Everyone who knows Sarah knows her talent, her character, her wisdom and her experience will serve her well and help her lead her new team. She’s a star, and she will be missed here, especially by me,” said WCPO news director Chip Mahaney in a Facebook post.

According to Zak’s LinkedIn page, she has served as the assistant news director in Cincinnati since 2014. Prior to that she was an executive producer at WFTS in Tampa, Fl.

WFTX has had news director vacancy since last year. Darryl Green was named general manager of the station in August 2017.
