Philadelphia NBC-owned station WCAU is looking to hire replacement workers for striking employees.

Philly.com reports WCAU gm Ric Harris told employees in an email the company has extended a final offer to striking workers that includes a “no-layoff” guarantee in a contract that extends until 2018. Philly.com also says strikers’ jobs have been posted on job sites.

WCAU told TVSpy, “We have presented a highly competitive compensation package to the union that also provides us the necessary flexibility to operate in today’s fast-changing broadcast industry. We continue to be hopeful that the union will ratify this offer – our last, best and final – so that its members can return to work under the terms of a fair contract.”

The workers, members of IBEW local 98, walked off the job two days before the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia which included live coverage plans.
