WBZ Launches CBSN Boston Streaming Network

CBS has launched its third of 13 planned direct-to-consumer news services, this one based in Boston.

CBSN Boston will offer 24/7 anchored programming, continued coverage of breaking news programs and an extensive library of content for on-demand viewing.

“The combined resources of CBS Television Stations and CBS Interactive are placing our CBSN Local services at the forefront of addressing consumers’ interest in receiving local, relevant and useful information on all platforms,” said Adam Wiener, evp and gm of CBS Local Digital Media. “With today’s launch in Boston we continue moving forward with an accelerated plan to launch CBSN Local services in all of our local news markets.”

The streaming network will air WBZ’s newcasts as well as added newscasts for the platform including a simulcast on the CBS station in Boston, WSBK.

CBSN launched in 2018 in New York. San Fransisco is the next city on the list.
