Rod Jackson has been named news director of Scranton, Pa., NBC affiliate WBRE.
Jackson takes over for Jim DePury, who is retiring on Dec. 31.
Jackson is currently the assistant news director at KSNT-KTMJ in Topeka, Kan. He was news director at KGAN-KFXA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before that. He’s also worked at ABC News One, KTVX in Salt Lake City, KTNV in Las Vegas, KULR in Billings, Mont., and KAPP in Yakima, Wash.
WBRE gm Robert Beeconfirmed with TVSpy, Jackson begins full time on Monday, Jan. 4, but will start coming in to the station starting Dec. 14.
