WBBM has named Mary Kay Kleist as the station’s permanent 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. meteorologist.
Kleist joined the CBS Chicago station in 2002. She has been filling in for meteorologist Steve Baskerville since he retired last December.
“Mary Kay has done a wonderful job stepping in since Steve’s retirement and stands as yet another example of her hard work and dedication to our station over the past 16 years,” Jeff Harris, vp and news director of CBS 2, said in a statement to blogger Robert Feder.

She came to Chicago from WXYZ in Detroit.
