Chicago CBS owned station WBBM is adding three hours of news on the weekends.
Starting September 13, the station will expand its 10:00 p.m.weekend show to one hour while a new 5:00 to 6:00 a.m. show will be added on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
“Local news is becoming more important on the weekends,” president and GM of WBBM, Marty Wilke, said in a statement. “By adding three additional hours of news, we will have more time to tell our viewers what’s happening in and around Chicago.”
Jim Williams and Mai Martinez will anchor the expanded 10:00 p.m. show while Marissa Bailey and weather anchor Ed Curran will anchor the morning shows.
